Privacy Policy

Feel It Back is an AI journaling and music app. Its AI features process personal writing to create reflections, lyrics, style recommendations, and songs. When you use these features, your content is processed by third-party AI services as described below. Private content is not public, but it is not limited to processing on your device.

This policy explains what the service stores, which providers receive content, and the choices available to you.

What we store

• An anonymous account identifier and the preferences attached to it.
• Journal entries, AI reflections and reflection permissions, marks, lyric-memory notes, lyric versions, song settings, generated audio, and cover images you keep.
• Operational records needed to create songs, such as generation status and user-safe error information.

Voice input

Voice input is optional. Microphone and speech permissions are requested only when you choose to record. In the native app, speech recognition requires on-device support; it is unavailable when that support is missing. Feel It Back does not upload or persist native recordings.

In a supported browser, you must consent before each recording. The browser’s speech service may send audio to its provider for transcription. Feel It Back does not store that audio and cannot control or verify the provider’s retention. Stopping or cancelling ends capture but cannot recall audio already sent to that service.

Transcripts remain in memory until you choose to add them to your journal. You can review, edit, or discard them first. Only accepted text uses normal journal saving and device recovery. Discarding a transcript or leaving the editor clears the unaccepted words from the app. Voice input never requests an AI reflection or a song automatically.

When AI providers receive content

Go deeper is optional and requires separate permission. Each request sends your complete saved title and entry, with up to three eligible previous AI reflections from that same entry, to Anthropic Claude through Convex AI Gateway and its routing providers, including OpenRouter. Marks do not hide text. Other entries, lyric memory, and listening history are excluded. Saving an entry alone never requests a reflection.

Reflections are AI suggestions stored separately from your writing. You can remove them or turn off future processing in Settings. Turning processing off cancels pending results but cannot recall data already submitted to providers. Provider retention policies apply.

When you choose Generate lyrics or Create song in one shot, the complete entry and any enabled lyric-memory notes are sent to a language-model provider to draft lyrics. One-shot creation can also send the entry and your existing style choices to a language model to recommend blank sound and lyric styles. Marks guide the draft; they do not hide text from that model. Saving an entry alone does not request lyrics or music.

The music-generation provider receives lyrics and sound directions. Both may contain words, names, events, or other personal details from your journal, including text reproduced by AI. We do not send the original journal entry as a separate field in the music request, but that does not guarantee its details are absent from the generated content sent to the provider.

You can review and edit lyrics and sound directions before requesting music, or choose Create song in one shot to send generated lyrics and sound directions to the music provider without reviewing them. Choosing one-shot creation authorizes this automatic processing and transfer. Recommended styles may carry journal details even when the model is instructed to use only musical traits.

How we use data

We use stored content to provide the editor, lyric drafting, song generation, playback, library, deletion, and support for failed jobs. Feel It Back does not currently use journal writing to train shared AI models. If that changes, it will require a separate, optional choice before any writing is used that way.

Storage and retention

Content remains attached to the anonymous account used by this device until you delete an entry, song, or all content. Providers may retain request data under their own service terms. We minimize what each provider receives, but cannot promise that a provider retains nothing.

Deletion, export, and recovery

Unsaved journal drafts are also backed up on this device so you can restore them after an interruption. Browser drafts use this site's local storage; native app drafts use encrypted device storage. A backup is removed when the matching text is saved to your account, or when you discard it. Deleting an entry or all content also attempts to remove its backups on the current device and reports any cleanup failure. Backups on other devices are not removed remotely.

You can delete individual content or use Delete all content in Privacy settings. Complete deletion includes entries, AI reflections, marks, lyric-memory notes, lyrics, songs, generation records, and stored audio. Deletion cannot be undone. Entry exports include only your writing by default; you can choose to include separately labelled AI reflections.

Account sign-in lets you access saved content across devices. Older guest spaces depend on a device credential until linked to an account; clearing storage or reinstalling can remove that credential. Export writing you want to keep independently of Feel It Back.

Sharing and analytics

Playlists are private by default. Choosing Shared lets anyone with the unlisted link listen without an account; choosing Public also lists the playlist in public browsing. Listeners receive the playlist title, description, track titles, take labels, and audio. Journal entries, written lyrics, and private notes are not included. Later playlist edits and changes to a song’s selected take update what listeners receive. Changing visibility disables the previous link. Making a playlist private or deleting it stops new listening requests, but cannot recall audio already loaded or saved by a listener.

Nothing is shared with another person unless you export or share it yourself. Product analytics must not contain journal text, lyrics, prompts, or lyric-memory notes.

Your choices

Privacy settings control AI reflection permission, explicit lyrics, and how much lyric memory a new draft may use. Controls for features that are not implemented are disabled rather than presented as active protection.
